1. Getting The Facts:
 

Immediately after any accident,  you should get the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all parties involved including any witnesses.  If you are physically able keep a brief note of what each witness will say.  If the police have been called to the scene, attempt to get the name of the investigating officer.  If possible you should attempt to obtain photos from the scene of the accident as well as any vehicles involved.
